How has it been a month already? I don't know if it's been the short nights, the million extra diaper changes, or all the hours logged in trying to keep Grace off her sister, but the time has flown.
So far, Sophie seems to be a bit easier than Grace. She spits up like it's her job, so all those burp cloths are coming in really handy- as long as I can keep up with the laundry. She generally sleeps a longer (4-5 hrs at times!!) stretch during the night, for which I will be ever grateful. Until today, she has done really well with bathtime, so I'm hoping that her fit of anger was a fluke and not the new norm. She isn't a fan of being buckled into her carseat, but I can't say I really blame her for that one. She loves loves loves being walked/rocked/swung/moving in general, being swaddled, and tolerates the bouncy seat more that Grace.
Her eye color is a very dark blue/gray- dark enough that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they turn brown. Her skin looks a bit tan, but we don't know if it's due to jaundice or her Sicilian roots. Grace's became really fair after a month or two, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. We've only seen a few smiles so far (maybe by Easter she'll be smiling for real? I hope) but I have seen a dimple in her right cheek a couple of times. She is losing the pterodactyl element to her cry from the first couple of weeks, but still snorts like a little piglet when she's fussy.
It's so crazy to think that four short weeks ago she wasn't here yet, and now I can't imagine life without her.
She's so beautiful and so alert.
ReplyDeleteSUPER adorable! wow, even I can't believe it's been a month :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful baby, Francine! A month HAS flown by...how crazy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE her coloring! My babies were all the same way...my husband is half-Jordanian, so they were all born really tan (which I loved). Unfortunately, at that one/two month mark, the genetics from their pasty white mama came through, haha! Oh well :)
ReplyDeleteHer eyes! Oh my gosh- her eyes.
ReplyDeleteI swear, commenting about newborns always reduces my vocabulary to sub-human levels, but I don't care. She's so so cute.
