7 Quick Takes

Joining up with that reality show star, JFul, for another round of takes-

1. Just watched the first episode of Minor Revisions with my husband and daughter. In fact, Grace was so enthralled she begged for more... or maybe she just didn't want to go to bed. I'm guessing the first. It was all golden, but Jen, your dragon-slaying daughter definitely stole the show. I'm so glad the crew caught that on film.

2. Grace then managed to get Joe to put her in bed for about the 405984209384th time in a row. I really thought it would be me tonight, especially since I get off the hook this weekend, but she charmed him yet again.

3. Yes, I'm officially off-duty this weekend. (!) For the second time in Grace's life (!!) I'll be away for a night (two, actually). Yes, I know I need to get out more. I figured I'd better take advantage of the opportunity, especially since in a few short weeks (!!!!!!!) there will be another needy miniature Weber monopolizing my waking and sleeping.

4. The occasion? (yes, I'm stretching this into as many takes as possible) my little brother is coming home from a semester abroad (I'm only a little to a lot jealous) and I'm going with my mom and sister to meet him at the airport. And if we squeeze in a little last-minute Christmas shopping and hit up all of the coffee shops in the greater Chicago area, well, we'll just have to deal with it. He doesn't know I'm coming, but I can safely say it here because I know he: a) is in Dublin and too busy to be online and b) never reads this anyway.

5. But I know that my sister does (right?) so here's a pic of her with my offspring from last weekend:

there are more photos of these two than me with Grace. unless you count my massive leg in the background.

6. My mom and sister came to visit (see above) and we took them to this little bar and grill place in a town of about four houses- I exaggerate not. It has amazing steaks, which Joe and my uncle were obviously excited about:

7. Have a great weekend, and for many more, much better takes, go see Jen and friends. I plan to change zero diapers and finish multiple meals without picking up any sippy cups... we'll see what the weekend and Hurricane Grace have in store for Joe.
