Thank you and Grace is 2!

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to you for all your kind words, well wishes and general happiness sharing for our growing family. We are so blessed! Now that the news is shared with the world at large and my first trimester sickness is pretty much over (knock on wood!) it's much easier to feel the excitement. It's also a good distraction to keep me from getting all weepy that my baby girl is now two!

We had an out-of-town wedding on her actual birthday, which actually worked out well because we got to see a lot of family, Grace had lots of little cousins to play with, there was a lot of dancing (her fave), and I didn't even have to bake (hooray for wedding cupcakes!). I'm pretty sure she thought the whole thing was for her, and who was I to tell her otherwise? Unfortunately, we seemed to forget about the existence of cameras that day, so I'm pretty sure there are none. Whoops. We did celebrate her birthday and my sister's at our house on Sunday and managed to get a few snaps in, thanks to her iPhone-wielding father.

Birthday girl on her birthday morning

Best $1 we ever spent. She loves that balloon.

Right before she hopped down to bust a move to the song from the card.

New fave book.

Playing dress-up with her new cooking accessories.

Both birthday girls- I promise they were more happy than they look.

And in case those weren't enough, here's a few more photos from over the past couple of weeks:

My new favorite picture of her.

Girlfriend loves to dress up.

"I'm too big!" No kidding.

Keeping up with some summer reading.

Her little table at our garage sale. She greeted customers with a "Hi! Good morning! Hi!"

Grace, you are more fun every day. I love watching you learn and grow. It's a joy to wake up and hearing you singing in your room. Your new catchphrases always crack us up. One of these days, you'll actually follow up with a question when you tell me, "Mom, I have a question for you." Thank you for playing quietly on the days when I feel terrible and need to lay on the couch. Thank you for being so patient with me. I'm working on being more patient with you, too. This weekend, you got to see your little cousin Priya again. It makes me so excited for when you'll be a big sister when I watch you and see how sweet you are with her. You are a joy and I'm so thankful for you.
