I'm still in that oh-so-awkward stage of no longer filling out my maternity clothes and definitely not squeezing into my prepregnancy pants, so it's really limiting my wardrobe. Also, I discovered this morning that I don't own very much green, so my options were even more constricted. Here's what I came up with after nearly giving up and wearing my momiform of a tee and yoga pants to Mass- luckily I haven't hit that low yet:
the ponytail holder on my wrist really brings the whole outfit together |
after hearing one too many complaints from me about how awkward and short my legs look (see above), Joe the photographer decided to try a new angle to make me look tall:
he's soooo funny |
pants: Younkers clearance rack, my maternity staples
shoes: Gap (old)
One of my good friends from college has been sending holiday-themed packages since Grace was an infant, which is wonderful because I'm never on the ball with that sort of festive wear. So thanks to Kate, the girls in all their shamrocked glory:
Hope you all had a wonderful day and didn't get sick from drinking green beer. And, of course, don't forget to check out all the better looking outfits at FLAP.
Your top is very flattering to your between-wardrobe figure, and your girls are so sweet together!
ReplyDeleteHah... my husband would have done the same thing. He often doesn't let me look at pictures until it's too late to take anymore. ;) Also, I always cut off the bottom of my legs!
ReplyDeleteI would have been out of luck this St Patrick's Day if it weren't for a friend who sent a "Kiss me I'm Irish" onesie for the baby! I know how you feel!
I love the ruffles and green of that shirt!
ReplyDeleteYou look very lovely. I like your photographer's angle! I could use some creative leg-lengthening photography, too!
Sweet babies! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! The ruffles are such a fun little detail.
DeleteI love that color of shirt - it looks awesome on you! Congrats on your newest addition. It always took me 9 months to get back (sort of) my original self!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I keep reminding myself that it took me 9 months to gain the weight, so it won't all just fall off immediately. Until then, there's always my yoga pants!
DeleteYou look great, Francine, and I love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove that shirt! And I feel you on the post-partum body - it's just an obnoxious hump to get over, since there's no point in buying new clothes yet when your body is still settling on a shape... But you pulled it off - way cute!
ReplyDeleteyou look great! i definitely wore only belly panel pants/shorts the first month or so after my son was born! so much more comfortable. love that top!
