7 quick takes

We'll see if I can come up with seven, anyway...

1. We recently got to see another FUS grad when Joe's household brother kindly stopped by our casa on his move cross-country. It was fun to meet his mom and brother and catch up about where our lives are and laugh about college days with old friends.

2. I realized that there's no motivation to clean like when you have people coming to visit and stay overnight. Especially when a friend's mom is one of the people staying. I hadn't done so much cleaning in such a short time since... forever? since my mother-in-law last visited? I don't know.

3. Obligatory take about the Olympics. I usually don't get into them very much, but they've sucked Joe and me in every night. Someone should have warned us how addicting they are. Even though I knew the results of the women's team and individual gymnastics teams (no thanks to you, Facebook), it was fun to watch it happen.

4. Grace's new favorite game: handing me her mini Magna-Doodle and commanding me to draw Elmo, balloons, stars, birds, water, or whatever word she makes up. I comply, and as soon as I begin to draw, she whips it out of my hands to do it herself. She then puts the whole ritual on repeat (happily for her, annoyingly for me) for what seems like forever.

5. She also started begging pieces of Joe's morning toast/bagel. He aptly commented, "It's like feeding a dog."

6. We're supposed to get a break from the heat this weekend and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I'm hoping to finally hit up the farmer's market since I always manage to forget about it and it won't be a billion degrees out.
